Note: This chart is meant to be used only as an approximate guide. GV Hawaii reserves the right to place a student in a level based on completion of a comprehensive oral and written test conducted on the first day of class. Levels vary in length to complete.

*CEFR（Common European Framework of Reference for Languages）：It is an international index for evaluating language proficiency in the guideline called the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It is currently used around the world to objectively assess learners' linguistic performance. The Cambridge English Test is highly consistent with the CEFR and is used around the world as a standard test for learners to determine if they have reached their target CEFR level.

Your class level is determined based on result of a comprehensive oral and written test students take on the first day of class. Intermediate to advanced levels of classes are in the morning and beginner to intermediate are in the afternoon.
Those who wish to make a provisional judgment can take a written test at home, but the formal judgment is made based on completion of the test conducted on the first day. If you would like to take a written test, please contact us via our contact form.
